NUEVA YORK. MTV anunció este martes los nominados para los premios «MTV Video Music Awards 2009». Las damas encabezan el grupo, ya que Beyoncé y Lady Gaga ganan nueve nominaciones cada una por «Single Ladies (Put A Ring on It)», «Poker Face» y «Paparazzi» respectivamente. Britney Spears sigue con una impresionante serie de siete nominaciones combinadas por «Womanizer» y «Circus». Jay-Z, Green Day, Eminem, Kanye West y Coldplay se encontrarán compitiendo cada uno por varias distinciones moonmen en la gran noche.
Además, el dúo puertorriqueño ganador del premio Latin Grammy(R) Wisin y Yandel, el rapero Drake y los roqueros Kings of Leon son unos de los artistas que han recibido su primera nominación a los VMA. Incluido en la impresionante formación de nominados por primera vez está el rapero Asher Roth, que se encuentra rivalizando con uno de los artistas más notorios de la actualidad, Eminem, en la categoría «Mejor Hip-Hop». Como se anunció anteriormente, Russell Brand será anfitrión del evento, y actuarán Green Day, P!nk, Taylor Swift y Muse.
